Bus Stops
BE AT YOUR BUS STOP AHEAD OF TIME.
It is important for students to be at their bus stop locations before their stop times. Bus schedules are very time sensitive, and if everyone is ready and waiting at their bus stop, the schedule continues to run smoothly. Be prepared for weather! Even if it's raining, students still need to be at the stop - not inside your home, waiting on the bus to arrive. If a substitute driver is driving your route, they may miss your stop if they don't see anyone out waiting.
WAIT IN LINES.
Your bus driver will assign places of safety for students to stand and wait for the bus. If your stop has multiple students, the first one to arrive stands at the place of safety, and (where possible), all the other students will fall into line behind the first student.
WATCH FOR HAND SIGNALS.
Stay at your place of safety until the driver signals you to enter the bus. Crossing students should wait for the driver's signal to cross, and follow all crossing procedures.
NEIGHBORHOOD STOPS
Several neighborhoods in Batavia are large enough to require buses to enter and make stops within the neighborhood. For consistency and safety's sake, the same stop locations are used for all schools whenever possible.
